Headquartered in Hauppauge, New
York, Telebyte, Inc. is a leading
manufacturer of data communications
equipment for copper and fiber
networks. In addition, our high-tech
enterprise offers local loop
simulators and noise generators for
testing broadband equipment.
Telebyte supports a wide range of
communication solutions and services
including media converters,
interface converters, short haul
modems, and fiber optic products.
The company’s main focus is the
design, development, manufacturing,
marketing and sales of technology products.
It has two product lines: Data
Communications and Broadband Test Equipment.
These are used with both twisted-pair copper
cable and fiber optic cable transmission
media. They include fiber optic LAN
extenders, fiber optic converters and
modems, interface converters, short haul
modems, isolation and surge protection
devices, and others. The Broadband Test
Equipment product line is focused on test
equipment products (e.g., local loop
simulators and noise generators) used in the
development of signaling devices for
technologies achieving broadband access to
the Internet as well as the family of
Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) signaling
techniques.
Local Loop Simulators
Model 458 Series (16-Slot Chassis)
It is ideally suited for testing DSL modems
and other bandwidth-compliant telecom
devices in a high-volume production-line
environment. It has the potential to house
128 channels when all slots contain our
8-channel line modules. In addition, the
unit interfaces with a controlling PC or
terminal via IEEE-488 or RS-232 to control
loop-length settings. A user-friendly
interface or user-command language may be
used for control of the line modules.
The Model 458-CC Chassis is used with our
advanced 458 Line Module series to simulate
several cable types and offers the bandwidth
requirements for today’s xDSL technologies
such as ADSL, ADSL2, ADSL2+, VDSL and VDSL2.
Only need
one, two or three slots? The Model
458-3SL
accepts 1, 2 or 3 line modules (up to 8
channels each).
Accessories: 458 Line Modules
Model 458-3SL (3-Slot Chassis)
This compact, versatile unit accepts
1, 2 or 3 line modules and controls from 1 -
24 channels. The Telebyte Model 458-3SL is
ideal for testing DSL modems and other
bandwidth-compliant telecom devices in a
high-volume production environment. While it
can be used as a stand-alone unit, the
built-in Control Module interfaces with a PC
via RS-232, IEEE-488, or Ethernet. Line
lengths and configuration settings appear on
an LCD display on the front of the unit and
can be set via a keypad. For added
convenience, the Control Module firmware is
field-upgradeable through the RS-232 port.
The same software is used for the 458-CM
(16-Slot chassis).
The Model 458-3SL is used with our advanced
458 Line Modules that simulate several cable
types and offer the bandwidth requirements
for today’s xDSL technologies such as
varieties of ADSL, ADSL2+ and VDSL2.
User-friendly GUIs (included with line
modules) provide another means of
controlling loop lengths and communication
parameters.
Need more slots? The
Model
458 Series 16-Slot Chassis accepts up to
16 line modules (up to 8 channels per line
module).

Model 4901 Multi Output Universal xDSL
Noise/Interference Simulator
The Telebyte Model 4901
Multi-Output Noise Simulator
provides 2 to 24*
independent noise channels
in a convenient, 4U-high
unit. The system holds up to
6 AWG cards, each of which
can be configured with
either 2 or 4 channels. This
powerful solution is easily
expanded by adding more 2 or
4-port AWG cards and
companion noise injectors.
The system includes
user-friendly configuration
software allowing the user
to select and build a wide
variety of impairment models
common to DSL network
implementations. Common
crosstalk types available
include ADSL2+, VDSL2 and
many more. The user-defined
crosstalk feature allows
specification of a target
PSD on the DSL line. Using
either MATLAB (.mat) or
Excel (.xls) files, the user
supplies the target PSD in
dBm/Hz and corresponding
frequency values. This
feature produces crosstalk
with the desired PSD on the
DSL line and, optionally,
any combination of RFI
tones. No additional PC
required.
